Beijing Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance for Beijing
The first question is whether or not to get travel insurance, and our answer is an emphatic yes. That’s not because we’re afraid of being sued.
For a quick quote at reasonable prices, we can recommend JS Insurance for travellers from the UK and AIG Travel Guard for travellers from the USA.
The reason you should buy travel insurance is not because we seriously think you’re going to get ill, get kidnapped or whatever, because travelling in Beijing is extremely safe. The reason you should get travel insurance before you travel to Beijing or anywhere in the world is because getting travel insurance purchases peace of mind for friends and family back home, and gives you the freedom to go and do as you please in this awesome city.
Travel insurance comes in various shapes and sizes, but basically covers medical expenses and / or financial losses incurred whilst travelling. You can usually buy basic travel insurance from travel agents, but going to a specialist insurer will usually net you a better deal, and give you a wider range of options.
Are these things included in your travel insurance?
Things you would expect to be included in your travel insurance are: medical expenses including emergency evacuation, compensation for cancellation, curtailment or delays, legal assistance, loss or theft of money, documents and property, personal liability, and compensation in the case of death, disablement and injury.
Things that might well be excluded from travel insurance:
Some things might well be excluded, if these apply to you, you should buy separate insurance to cover: Dangerous sports, pregnancy, pre-existing medical conditions, drug or alcohol use. Travel to seriously dangerous countries is a whole different kettle of fish.
