World’s Tallest Man Weds in Inner Mongolia

The UK’s Guardian newspaper today reported on the wedding of the world’s tallest man, 7ft 9in Bao Xishun, got married on Wednesday.

Mr Bao is something of a celebrity in China, where he is famed for having used 42 inch arms to save the lives of two dolphins. The dolphins had been eating plastic from the edge of their tank, and when surgical instruments were unable to remove it from their stomachs, Mr Bao’s arms proved up to the job.

Mr Bao was once in the army, where he played basketball, but now performs publicity stunts and herds livestock in his native Inner Mongolia.

He met his wife through the personal ads, an increasingly common way of finding love in China where semi-arranged marriages are common.
