The Beijing Redwall Hotel (or Red Wall Hotel) enjoys an incredible location at a reasonable price. It’s within walking distance of the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and some of Beijing’s best shopping – Wangfujing. This is really an enormous selling point, you’ll save yourself so much bus, taxi and tube related trauma.

There’s a nice view from the bar at the top of the hotel – imaginatively named ‘View Bar’.

The Redwall Hotel’s interior decoration is quite Chinese and there’s a courtyard of sorts which is nice, but don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that this is a courtyard hotel, it’s not, it’s an ordinary hotel which has just made more effort than most.

Good English is widely spoken by staff, and whilst the majority of the Redwall’s guests are very happy with the service, an minority of guests complain that they feel the staff basically consider guests a nuisance. This is probably the trade off for such a good location, overall we still think it’s a good hotel.
