Beijing Downtown Backpackers Hostel is a very popular hostel with a downtown location and rock bottom prices. The hostel is located a short car journey North of the Forbidden City, not far from Beijing’s Houhai bar area. There’s a sociable atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and speak English.
The hostels immediate surroundings are a hutong area, although the hostel building itself is fairly nondescript. The hostel organises tours to well known Beijing sights like the Great Wall as well as camping and hiking trips.
